Dame Cleo is the only singer ever to receive Grammy nominations in the Female Jazz, Popular, and Classical categories. Sir John was musical director for many greats—Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson and Sophie Tucker—and his big band shared the bill with the Duke Ellington Orchestra.
