Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor
Required Qualifications
SOCIAL BEHAVIORAL, ADMINISTRATIVE, and PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES FACULTY -- The founding
faculty must have either a PhD or PharmD with residency and/or fellowship training
(or equivalent experience) in a field related to Social, Behavioral and Administrative
Sciences. The position will require indication for possible or current accomplishments
in the areas of pharmacoepidemiology, research design and literature evaluation, health
economics and outcomes research.
Preferred Qualifications
While applications from all clinical and pharmaceutical sciences disciplines will
be considered, those candidates whose interests expand and complement existing expertise
in the department, Stony Brook Medicine and Stony Brook University are strongly encouraged
to apply. A history of innovative, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research
interactions is preferred. Candidates with expertise in other relevant academic experience/interests
areas that include public health, automation and informatics, and law are encouraged
to apply.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Teaching: Coordinate and teach required and elective topics in the PharmD curriculum.
Faculty will embrace team-based learning pedagogy and be able to demonstrate educational
innovation, integration and creativity through development and implementation of active
learning in the classroom.
- Scholarship: Develop a program of basic and transitional research and/or academic
scholarship as evidenced by attainment of research/training grants, presentations,
and publications of research and academic scholarly work.
- Service to the University/School: Participation in Department, School and University/Campus
Committees and serving in as advisory role to student groups or functions.
- Collegiality, team building, professional and ethical behaviors.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Chair.

Eligibility for tenure will be based upon applicant's qualifications and experience.
FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal
and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
