Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor (Multiple Positions)
Required Qualifications
MD or MD/Ph.D. or equivalent. Eligibility for New York State licensure. Completion
at an accredited Neurology residency. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology.
Strong interest in an academic career.
Preferred Qualifications
Fellowship training in a neurological sub-specialty and interest in conducting clinical
research. Areas of sub-specialty that would mesh well with existing priorities include
neurogenetics, behavioral neurology, cerebrovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases,
movement disorders, autism, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, infectious
diseases, or patient outcomes and safety, but candidates with expertise in other areas
will also be considered.
Responsibilities & Requirements
A majority of time will be allocated to seeing patients in outpatient settings and
concurrently teaching resident or medical student trainees. Some time will also be
allocated to attending on the Neurology inpatient or hospital consult service, also
in a teaching setting. Clinical research is encouraged, and the candidate will be
able to increase time allocated to research if he/she is able to secure external research
funding.
Special Notes
These are non-tenure track positions. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
provisions of the FLSA. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. To qualify
for an appointment as Associate Professor, the candidate must meet the criteria established
by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure ).
