Larissa GrassArtVentures Summer Camp

A native of Long Island my passion for the fine arts started at a very young age. I received a portfolio scholarship to attend Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Philadelphia, where I received my B.F.A. in Printmaking. Tyler gave me an opportunity to travel to their Rome campus where I studied with master printmakers exploring modern and ancient printing techniques. It was there that I fell in love with the medium.

My role in the art community currently revolves around education. My passion for teaching drives me to share all I know about the fine arts with budding artists. I am currently the Department head at Harbor Country Day School where I teach children ages three to twelve. I am also the Education Coordinator at Gallery North’s Studio and 2017 recipient of the Brookhaven’s Artist of the Year award.

My most cherished educational philosophy is to share with my students how an artist can help their community through the use of their artistic strengths. Creative minds can change the world for the better!
