Sunmi Han, piano

sunmi hanPianist Sunmi Han, having made her debut with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 11, has performed with numerous orchestras in both Asia and Europe such as Nord Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, Kalvory Vary Symphony, Kharkov Philharmonic Orchestra, Sung-nam Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica di Rome, etc.

She gave her European debut in Munich performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto no.1 in the Herkulessaal, and the recording of this work was made in Rome, with the Orchestra di Sinfonica de Rome. As a collaborative pianist, she made her debut with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra
as a guest pianist, performing premier of ‘Iscariot’ by Christopher Rouse. Sunmi obtained herBachelor’s Degree at the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Martin Canin and Yoheved Kaplinsky, and furthered her studies with Arie Vardi in Tel-Aviv, Israel. After her time in Israel, she was accepted into the class of Michael Schäfer at School of Performing Art and Theater in Munich, Germany. While studying her Master’s degree and Meisterklasse (Artist Diploma), she actively performed and collaborated with numerous musicians in Germany, and graduated with the highest distinction. Sunmi is currently pursuing her Doctoral of Musical Art degree at the Stony Brook University with Professor Gilbert Kalish.
